Pornstars should demand that men working on the fringes of the porn industry routinely get tested for STDs too. “PASS Civilian” is a possible solution.

Considering that there are so many men on the fringes of the porn industry (bloggers, publicists, managers, photographers and even pimps) who routinely are in close (even sexual) contact with the active pornstars, such individuals should be required to maintain a current STD test (just as the active adult actors and actresses do) to add an additional level of safety and security when it comes to the porn industry performers’ health.
Though few like to talk about it, many of the men on the fringes of the industry are specifically there with the agenda of having sexual interaction with pornstars. Many pornstars are clueless as to who these men are and often are bullied into interacting with them (on sets, at conventions and at industry parties). To address this issue, the PASS system (the STD testing database for the porn industry) should create an offshoot called “PASS Civilian” which would link a upc code (on a key chain) to the “fringe individuals'” legal name and current STD status. That way any pornstar already in the primary PASS system could easily verify who the person is who’s attempting to interact with them AND determine what that person’s STD status is.
