PNT Commentary: Earlier today it was announced to the North American pornographic industry talent pool (initially by the APAG Union) that veteran performer and European industry mega pornstar Nacho Vidal has tested HIV positive. The news of course has the entire adult industry concerned considering how transient porn performers routinely are between North America and Europe – however here’s a little something to consider…

It was announced today Nacho Vidal tested HIV positive in Europe.

Theoretically, considering that Nacho Vidal tested HIV positive in Europe, rather than in America, he could easily continue his career performing IN America – AND he could theoretically be cleared in the current Free Speech Coalition’s PASS testing system (that is unless the Free Speech Coalition BANS him from the PASS system).

Here’s how:

  1. Nacho Vidal consults with an HIV specialist who prescribes him medications which in time lower his viral load to “Undetectable” levels.
  2. Nacho Vidal flies to North America and tests with Cutting Edge Testing (CET – an FSC PASS approved STD testing clinic)
  3. Nacho Vidal is cleared to work by Cutting Edge Testing and begins shooting adult content with North American performers also cleared in the PASS system.

Yep. It’s that simple. Unless Cutting Edge Testing adds the HIV Ag/Ab test to their performer testing panel (as Talent Testing Services recently did at the APAG Union’s request) an Undetectable performer can easily be cleared to work in the Free Speech Coalition PASS system. It’s important to keep in mind that Nacho Vidal has NEVER tested in the PASS system before, so technically if he tests with CET in the future for the first time (and nothing changes with their testing standards between now and then), as long as he’s “Undetectable” he can be cleared to work.

This situation is something for porntstars to think long and hard about…  Of course some performers stand by the mantra of “Undetectable = Untransmittable” – so does any of this REALLY matter?
