a petition against Pornhub gains momentum – accuses adult video giant of facilitating sex trafficking – A PROTEST IS PLANNED!
March 7, 2020PNT commentary: Ironically a substantial percentage of legitimate pornographers would like to see PornHub bite the dust considering the vast adult content theft reported… the truth is many “old school” adult content producers (who’ve nearly been pushed out of the business by PornHub’s relaxed policies on unauthorized content sharing) would benefit greatly by the anti-porn activists successfully closing PornHub.
An anti-Pornhub petition with the goal of shutting down the adult video giant and holding its executives accountable for allegedly facilitating human trafficking has acquired nearly 370,000 signatures.
The petition is addressed to U.S. and Canadian officials and targets the CEO and COO of MindGeek, which owns PornHub. Anti-trafficking activist Laila Mickelwait started the petition, claiming that PornHub makes it too easy for sex traffickers to feature victims in videos uploaded to the site.
As of Thursday, the petition had more than 367,000 signatures.
“They’re set up for exploitation,” Mickelwait told Fox News in an interview, adding that she plans to formally notify the Trump administration of the petition.
The petition points to several instances of trafficked victims appearing on pornographic sites, including an underage girl who was missing for nearly a year before her mother learned that 60 pornographic videos of her had been posted to Pornhub, SnapChat, Periscope, and ModelHub. As Mickelwait noted on Twitter, PornHub described the girl as a “verified model with valid ID.”
“Pornhub is generating millions in advertising and membership revenue with 42 billion visits and 6 million videos uploaded per year,” the petition reads. “Yet it has no system in place to verify reliably the age or consent of those featured in the pornographic content it hosts and profits from.”
“In fact,” the petition goes on, “all that is needed to upload pornography onto Pornhub is an email address. No government-issued ID is required, not even to become “verified” with its trusty blue checkmark that makes everything seem a-OK.”
Mickelwait added that Pornub also does not have any “reliable system in place to verify that those in the videos it hosts are not trafficked children being raped on film in order to line the pockets of its executives.”

Demonstration at Pornhub headquarters on International Women’s Day amid allegations the site is profiting from and enabling the sex trafficking and rape of women and minors
MONTREAL, Quebec, March 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — On International Women’s Day, March 8 from 1:00pm-3:00pm in Montreal, a demonstration will take place outside of the world headquarters of Mindgeek, the company that owns Pornhub, calling for the site to be shut down due to allegations the company is aiding and profiting off of the sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children.
The protest, being attended by women and children’s advocacy NGOs, activists, and concerned citizens, aims to publicize the worldwide public outrage that has mounted as a massive Pornhub scandal has come to light in recent weeks. In an explosive op ed for the Washington Examiner on February 10, Laila Mickelwait an author, activist, and director of abolition for Exodus Cry, blew the whistle on the world’s largest and most popular porn website and the executives behind it. The article exposed that Pornhub allegedly does not require verification of the age or consent of millions of people featured in hardcore sex acts on its site. Because of this, she claims that the site is “infested” with videos containing women and underage girls allegedly being raped and trafficked.
The outcry from those horrified that women and children are allegedly being exploited and trafficked on the site for Pornhub’s profit, inspired the launch of a petition that has gained over 360,000 signatures as of March 4, and is growing by the minute.
The campaign to shut down Pornhub has gained the support of over 75 child protection, women’s rights and anti-trafficking organizations as well as the backing of experts on and survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.
Pornhub is described as a “super predator” with 42 billion visits per year that generate enormous profits for Mindgeek and its executives. PayPal recently pulled its services from the site amid allegations that over 118 instances of child sexual abuse were found on the site by the Internet Watch Foundation. These instances are seen as just the tip of the iceberg.
Megan Walker, executive director of the London Abused Women’s Centre in Ontario will be leading the demonstration. She says, “Pornhub is facilitating child pornography and normalizing men’s violence against women resulting in sexual exploitation, trafficking torture and death. Sexual exploitation and trafficking are illegal. The government’s failure to take action puts the lives of all women and girls at risk.”
Canadian independent Senator Miville-Dechêne will be at the gathering: “It is shameful that Pornhub has posted sexual videos involving underage girls. Pornhub should take all necessary measures to verify that children and women are not trafficked or sexually exploited before posting porn videos.” Senator Miville-Dechêne is member of the All Party Parliamentary Group to End Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking and member of the Canadian Association of Feminist Parliamentarians.
The demonstration will be held at 7777 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, Quebec H4P 2H2, Canada from 1:00PM-3:00PM
